How to Deactivate or Delete a Facebook Account - Facebook may boast 1.3 billion monthly active users, but the social media network isn’t for everyone. Might you think social networking wasting time or might even you don’t find it all that useful there. Perhaps you're finding it too addictive and want to take a break.

If you're feel fed up with Facebook, you might decide that you want to delete your account. You can choose to temporarily delete or permanently delete your Facebook account forever, depending on your reasons for leaving. Here, we guide you through both options.

So how do you make a clean break from Facebook? then you’ve got two choices, Deactivate or Delete your Facebook Account.

Deactivate account Facebook

Deactivating your Facebook account mean temporarily delete your accont: You can delete your account temporarily so you can re-join at a later date, and all of your Facebook data will remain in Facebook's hands (such as friends and photos). You can reactivate your account later by logging in to Facebook.  

To deactivate your account, login to Facebook, and Navigate to the account settings page by clicking the arrow on the far right of the blue bar that runs along the top of your Facebook page. Select Settings and then on the next screen select Security.

Once there, click Deactivate your account toward the bottom of the page.

Facebook will try to guilt you into staying by showing you photos of your Facebook friends, and then ask you why you want to deactivate your account. Once you tell Facebook why you don’t want to be friends anymore, click the Confirm button, enter your password, and Facebook will proceed to deactivate of your account.

Permanently delete a account Facebook

Permanently Delete a Facebook account mean delete your account forever: If you think you'll ever want to return to your Facebook account and retrieve the content stored there such as photos, messages and statuses, you won't want to choose this option. As soon as you delete your account, You won’t be able to log back in to retrieve or view anything you’ve post.

Facebook recommends that you download a copy of the data you’ve published before you delete your account. 

How to download a copy of your facebook data: open the Settings menu by clicking the downward arrow icon and select Settings. Next, on the General Account Settings page, look for Download a copy of your Facebook data and click the link.

You'll then need to click the 'Start My Archive'. Facebook will then guide you through the process of downloading an archive of all your data.

Facebook doesn’t make it immediately obvious as to how to delete facebook account, but to do so, log in to Facebook with your account, and then visit Facebook’s Delete Account page to carry out the process.
